About

David Stern is a multiple Emmy Award Winner, Telly Award Winner, NY Film Festival Gold Medal Winner, and Videographer Award of Excellence Winner, who is one of the few producer/directors to be recognized for his work in entertainment shows, live special events, news, and sports shows. Under his leadership, BARD Entertainment has produced an incredible array of diverse broadcasts both in his native New York and around the world. From the live 24 camera, 25 hour Millennium broadcast originating in Times Square to the Bahariya desert in Egypt to the waters off of Bikini Atoll, Stern and his team are on site to produce and direct unique events.

Annette Jolles has created a diverse body of work as a director, writer and producer for stage and television. Her training as a theater director, coupled with a career as a professional harpist that began at age 5, has led to a unique career that straddles the classical and theatrical worlds. Since 1992, she has served as resident director/choreographer for The Little Orchestra Society, staging their operas, concerts and productions at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center and The Kaye Playhouse. Theatrical concert credits include the Lyrics and Lyricists series, Grind (The York’s Musicals in Mufti), and five seasons of New Voices Concerts at Symphony Space, where she also staged “Broadway and Beyond” with host Rob Fisher and their monumental 12 hour Wall to Wall Sondheim tribute featuring over 100 stars including Angela Lansbury, Elaine Stritch, George Hearn, and Barbara Cook.

For the past 16 years, David Stern and Annette Jolles have combined their areas of expertise to produce, write and direct television specials that incorporate their passion for music and theater. Their broadcasts of musical stage events, concerts and spectacles include the annual tree lighting from Bryant Park, multiple live and taped Broadway concerts, numerous musicals for A&E and PBS, and several live theatricals in the emerging field of high definition simulcasts to cinemas.

Together, Stern and Jolles have produced and directed television specials featuring an incredible range of pop, Broadway and classical artists including Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, Usher, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow, Bette Midler, Bebe Neuwirth, Ben Vereen, Jane Krakowski, Kristen Chenoweth, Placido Domingo, Yo Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, Marc Anthony, Sting, Phil Collins, and Elton John. In an effort to bring classical music into the homes of children across the country, the team also created the multi-award winning early childhood classical DVD, “The Orchestra – A Happy Family.”
