The event was hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Darryl Hammond, and the evening’s presenters were a who’s who of broadcast news—including Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Gwen Ifill, Dan Rather, Diane Sawyer, Wolf Blitzer, and Brian Williams. Just prior to his retirement, Tom Brokaw received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 38 years of broadcast journalism, 21 of which he spent behind NBC’s Nightly News desk.
DISCOVERY HEALTH MEDICAL HONORS
For the first time ever, the Discovery Health Channel brought the nation’s leading health organizations together to celebrate and honor the best of the medical field. The event, which was hosted by Regis Philbin and broadcast from the D.A.R. Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., was held to commend the achievements of individual health care providers, institutions, and clinical researchers who have made tremendous contributions to the field of medicine and to the lives of people around the world.
BARD Entertainment was proud to be the producer and director of the live Discovery Health Channel Medical Honors, which was then broadcast by Discovery Health as part of a two-hour special.
